This demo film shows Y-axis parting with CoroCut® QD. This completely new way of parting off gives higher stability and less vibration which allows for much higher feed rates compared to the conventional method.
About y-axis parting:
Conventional parting off only uses feed motion along the X-axis. With a new CoroCut® QD blade design where the insert pocket is rotated 90 degrees, you can part off along the Y-axis instead. You get a more beneficial direction of the cutting force, resulting in considerably higher blade stiffness which opens up for new machining possibilities within parting off.
