In collaboration with JP Performance, the DMU 85 H monoBLOCK tackled an extraordinary challenge: machining a complete titanium rim from grade 5 titanium. The material's extreme toughness and thermal sensitivity demand maximum stiffness and process stability. Thanks to the machine's solid monoBLOCK concept and ideal chip evacuation, tool life reached an impressive 100 minutes in roughing operations. The result? A stunning 17 kg titanium rim with just 4-mm spoke strength – a masterpiece of titanium manufacturing. ????
