Efficient Face Milling Techniques for Hydraulic Units | Seco tools

Wear test for a machining operation for a hydraulic unit from an important customer. The holes inside the test parts are for simulating some holes in the customer parts. A standard carbide Square 6 insert for roughing and a special CBN Square 6 insert for finishing was used. The CBN inserts were tested with a Ø160 mm and a Ø50 mm cutter. The Test with both Ø160 mm tools was done by alternating between one cut roughing and one cut finishing and so on. The Test with the Ø50 mm tool was just finishing the part without roughing.
