ISCAR TECH TALK -New Extra Long Solid Carbide Drills

ISCAR recently expanded its SOLID DRILL line by adding new extra-long solid carbide drills in 30, 40 and 50 diameter drill lengths for general applications. These extra-long drills are available in the range of: 30xD - Ø3-Ø10 mm Ø.125-.391” 40xD - Ø3-Ø8 mm Ø.125-.313” 50xD - Ø4-Ø6 mm Ø.172-.250” A 135 degree point and split point geometry increases drilling penetration rates for faster drilling and accuracy. The double-margin design on the drill enhances drilling stability and assures a smooth surface finish. Polished flutes actively improve chip evacuation during deep hole drilling. Coolant Holes in the drill enable cooling delivery to the cutting edges and effectively improve chip evacuation during the drilling process. The unique multi-layer coating allows drilling at high speeds which is an excellent advantage for drilling steel (up to 45 HRC).
