In our latest video, we demonstrate the precise machining of a slide insert for a plastic injection mold. The slide enables the implementation of undercuts and complex geometries in the injection-molded part – a crucial step for demanding molded parts. Together with our partners TEBIS and MOLDINO, we demonstrate how a masterpiece of mold manufacturing is created on a DMC 80 FD duoBLOCK with a powerMASTER HSK-A100 12,000 rpm spindle and a barrel cutter (circle segment cutter). The result: efficient and time-saving complete machining, including ribbed structure and subsequent quality control – with an impressive surface quality of Ra 0.2 µm. This precision approach exemplifies modern Die & Mold manufacturing standards!
Stay tuned for the extended machining process in the following weeks!
