Underfloor Wheel Truing Machine Automatic Cutter Alignment System

The new Automatic Cutter Alignment (ACA) system for the Stanray Underfloor Wheel Truing Machine will increase your railroad wheel shop’s safety and extend the life of your rail vehicle wheel sets. The system automatically aligns the milling cutter body to the ideal cutting position, limiting the amount of metal being removed from the wheel. A properly re-profiled (or "trued") wheel also decreases the chance for wheel flange climb derailments, improving the safety of your rolling stock fleet. The easily calibrated system's repeatability decreases the need for the operator to be under the vehicle during the wheel truing process and limits operator error. The ACA can be retrofitted to Stanray machines already in the field if the Stanray has Power Cutter Alignment and a new control system installed by Simmons after January 1, 2015.
