The mathematical integration of the rotation axis ensures measurements with direct reference to the measurement object’s coordinate system. This means that optical measurements can be used in three dimensions. This allows all spatial references to be established during the evaluation. The extremely fast camera enables dynamic measurements in rotation, for example of impellers and milling tools. Every cutting edge and every blade can be evaluated individually or together. Workpieces can therefore be evaluated in advance, before faulty components or tools are installed or used. Contours and features that are not visible in transmitted light can be made visible with the 16-sector incident light. The individually switchable sectors ensure a high contrast edge display and thus reproducible measurement results. The patented wobble compensation eliminates measurement errors caused by clamping devices. Eccentricity or wobbling, even in the micrometer range, is analyzed and compensated for so that the sensor system accounts for the wobble and always keeps the edge in focus. The end result is a stable and reliable measurement result. Optically undetectable undercuts, concave shapes and contours that are not continuous can be measured very precisely with the fully integrated measurement probe. Because all of the sensors are perfectly calibrated to each other, optical and tactile measurements can be combined and evaluated. For even greater precision, the scanning probe allows dynamic measurements with a maximum number of measurement points. Self-centering probing makes it possible to measure the form and effective diameters of splines extremely accurately and quickly. All WMM models can be individually configured and extended with a host of useful accessories including a fully automatic production cell. Customized solutions are normal for us.
