EMAG Vertical Multifunctional Production Machine VLC 250 P

Development of the VLC 250 P clearly focused on idle time reduction. Periods during which the machine does not produce -- when it is being loaded or unloaded -- had to be eliminated. The machine proves its worth when it comes to workpieces with short machining times, where the ratio between cycle time and idle time is the decisive factor in establishing the efficiency of the machining process. Another advantage: where a conventional process and the DUO concept are used for OP 10 and OP 20, the slower of the two ops defines the output rate. On a VLC 250 P the individual cycle times can also vary greatly, but it produces continuously, independent of individual times. The machine features a slide with two spindles that travel simultaneously. Whilst one spindle holds the workpiece during machining, the other one deposits a machined component on the conveyor belt and picks up a new raw-part, ie one work spindle is always in the machining area, with its workpiece being machined. This reduces workpiece changeover times to almost nothing.
