In our new video, we manufacture the complete slider for a plastic injection mold. Throughout the continuous process chain, we are supported in CNC programming by #TEBIS (CAD/CAM, templates, simulation) and #MOLDINO (tool and process strategy optimization). On the DMC 80 FD duoBLOCK, equipped with a powerMASTER HSK‑A100 spindle (12,000 rpm, 430 Nm) and cutting-edge tooling such as a highly efficient barrel cutter, we achieve these fine rib structures and other precise geometries needed in Die & Mold manufacturing. The result: highly efficient, time-saving complete machining, followed by quality control using a measuring probe and a MAHR surface measuring device. The result: an impressive surface finish of up to Ra 0.2 µm.

In this video, DMG MORI shows how this music box is manufactured on the CTX beta 450 TC with compactMASTER spindle and gearSKIVING 2.0 for gear cutting. In a 6-sided machining process, a complex component is created in a single clamping – without manual re-clamping. The notes were created using additive manufacturing in a powder bed process on a LASERTEC 30 SLM.

In our latest video, we demonstrate the precise machining of a slide insert for a plastic injection mold. The slide enables the implementation of undercuts and complex geometries in the injection-molded part – a crucial step for demanding molded parts. Together with our partners TEBIS and MOLDINO, we demonstrate how a masterpiece of mold manufacturing is created on a DMC 80 FD duoBLOCK with a powerMASTER HSK-A100 12,000 rpm spindle and a barrel cutter (circle segment cutter). The result: efficient and time-saving complete machining, including ribbed structure and subsequent quality control – with an impressive surface quality of Ra 0.2 µm. In collaboration with JP Performance, the DMU 85 H monoBLOCK tackled an extraordinary challenge: machining a complete titanium rim from grade 5 titanium. The material's extreme toughness and thermal sensitivity demand maximum stiffness and process stability. Thanks to the machine's solid monoBLOCK concept and ideal chip evacuation, tool life reached an impressive 100 minutes in roughing operations. The result? The SPRINT turning centers from DMG MORI are the epitome of highly economical production turning and automatic turning. The new SPRINT 420 represents the next generation of SWISSTYPE machines. It uses a common machine platform for three sizes for bar diameters from ø 13 mm to ø 51 mm, as in the case of the largest model, the SPRINT 420. Up to three machining units with up to three B-axes and a total of five, six or nine axes enable efficient complete machining of demanding workpieces up to 600 mm in length – bar stock and chuck parts. The SWISSTYPEkit, which has proven itself over many years, is also available as an option here.
